Trees for the Forest began as an ambitious idea back in the late 1990s. After writing the first draft Siegel put it in a drawer and let it sit. She dusted it back off in 2007 – taking it to the San Diego Writer’s Conference where it won an Editor’s Choice Award. The book languished on desks of agents where it was rejected with comments like, “amazing writing,” “It’s fantastic – just not for me.” This was no surprise to Siegel who had put the novel away because of its controversial underpinnings. She knew while writing it there was no way a traditional publisher would put it out, which was the reason she let it languish! Luckily, Indy publishing came into its own. She released it through Amazon where it has earned a 5 star rating. In the meantime she started a popular blog astrology and psychic predictions, got a deal with FOX to write a pilot, had a baby, wrote three other novels (which she has been sitting on) numerous short stories, non-fiction books, plays and poems (all of which will have forthcoming releases) did photo jobs, private readings and had art shows. Keep in touch with her through this site as she culls through old work to be released and continues on her journey as a writer/artist/psychic.
